Goodyear, the official tire of NASCAR, is launching a campaign that shows how the company’s legacy is tied to the sport.
Set to the voiceover of NASCAR Hall of Famer Bill Elliott and featuring archival at-track racing footage from the last seven decades, the effort from GSD&M takes a nostalgic look at the evolution of racing and Goodyear’s role in driving the sport forward.
The 30-second spot debuts Feb. 19 during the Fox broadcast of the Daytona 500 as NASCAR marks 75 years of stock car racing and Goodyear celebrates its 125-year anniversary.
This ad plays up Goodyear’s commitment to innovation and its “constant pursuit of forward motion,” says Meg Lee, vice president of marketing, Goodyear.
Goodyear’s legacy of manufacturing and supplying race tires dates back to 1954 and its relationship with NASCAR is one of the longest in racing history, Lee says.
