William "Bill" Cook, who served as executive vice president-research and standards at the Advertising Research Foundation (ARF, 1997-2013), as well as editor of the ARF's Journal of Advertising Research (JAR) (1988-1999), died May 15. He was 80.
Cook, who began his career in marketing as senior research psychologist at DuPont (1974-1981), went on to become manager of market research development at Kraft General Foods (1981-1985) and executive vice president-research at Simmons Market Research Bureau (1985-1987), also served as a board member of the Council for Opinion & Marketing Research.
