DirecTV has signed a multiyear deal with EverPass Media that will allow it to continue broadcasting the National Football League’s Sunday Ticket package to commercial locations in the U.S., including restaurants, bars and casinos.
AT&T's DirecTV held the rights to Sunday Ticket for nearly three decades, until Google's YouTube and YouTube TV inked a multiyear agreement in December 2022, reportedly paying more than $2 billion per year for the streaming rights.
The Sunday Ticket package allows subscribers to watch all local and out-of-market games, rather than being limited to games available in their local markets. YouTube charged individual subscribers $294 per year for the package. YouTube is upping the price to $396.
Starting with the 2023 season, DirecTV will distribute the Sunday Ticket package to the more than 300,000 commercial locations in the DirecTV for Business network.
EverPass Media, funded by RedBird Capital Partners and the NFL’s 32 Equity investment arm, is the exclusive distributor of NFL Sunday Ticket starting with the 2023 season.
