Baldwin& Wins AOR Duties For eVTOL Maker Opener

Raleigh-based agency Baldwin& has won creative and media duties for Palo Alto-based Opener, one of a number of firms competing in the rapidly developing aviation sector of electric helicopter-type aircraft known as eVTOLs (electric vertical Takeoff and Landing).

The company produces one such aircraft called BlackFly, which is in the late phases of development in advance of a general release.

EVTOL's are seen as potential competitors to regular helicopters although certification by Federation Aviation Administration is still ongoing.

For BlackFly, the first users will be individuals flying on privately owned property, although the firm is also planning to exploit public service and military applications in the future.

Opener CEO Ken Karklin said, “Putting the reality of three-dimensional flight in the hands of the average person becomes more and more possible every day. Baldwin& is an ideal match to help bring this news to the world.”

Baldwin& will be working with Opener on all aspects of marketing to showcase BlackFly’s unique technology and make it more accessible to the public. The first work appeared last week both online and as part of the Experimental Aircraft Association’s AirVenture event in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.
