In Her New Role, Arielle Garcia Will Be Watching Your Ads

Former UM Worldwide Chief Privacy and Responsibility Officer Arielle Garcia has joined advertising watchdog Check My Ads as director of intelligence.

Garcia, who quietly left her position at UM in September 2023 following a reorganization of the IPG Mediabrands unit, has long been known as an internal ad industry watchdog, advising her agencies and clients on the ethical and responsible use of consumer data to target advertising.

In 2023, she was named the youngest member of the Institute for Advertising Ethics advisory board, and during last week's Coalition for Innovative Media Measurement (CIMM) summit in New York City, she was featured in a keynote conversation about "Privacy, Measurement and Trust."

After leaving UM, Garcia founded her own consultancy, ASG Solutions, to advise global marketers on safe and effective media and data strategies.

Commenting on her new outsider watchdog role, Garcia stated, "Our collective mission to drive change in the digital ad industry for the benefit of consumers, brands, society, and democracy.”
