Chipotle Goes Green, Partners With Golfer Max Homa

Golfers may be the only ones ON the green in Augusta, Georgia for the 2024 Masters tournament April 11-14, but Chipotle plans to make its support of the game known both on and off the course.

Starting today, in-restaurant and digital burrito orders will be wrapped in a limited-edition green foil at Chipotle’s restaurant in Augusta, to “celebrate golf’s most anticipated week of the year,” per the release.

The green wraps also commemorate the chain’s new sponsorship of pro golfer and Chipotle superfan Max Homa. Six-time tour winner Homa will feature the Chipotle logo on his golf bag throughout 2024 and will “work with the brand on additional activations in the coming months.”

Homa’s love of Chipotle can be traced as far back as a 2013 tweet where he wrote, “lately people keep telling me to follow my gut. man if i followed my gut id be at chipotle all day.”

“During the week of an event, it’s common to see various players at the closest Chipotle because we’ve become a go-to meal for pro golfers,” said Chris Brandt, chief brand officer at Chipotle, in the release. “We hope a stop into our Augusta restaurant for a green foil burrito foreshadows a strong showing for Max and our other pro golfer superfans later this week.”

The brand is also promoting the partnership through social posts of Homa making his own green wrapped burrito, such as the one seen here.

The brand says the green foil launch and partnership with Homa are part of its Real Food for Real Athletes platform, which “focuses on helping athletes across all levels perform their best by providing proper nutrition through real food and real ingredients.”
