It would be hard to find anyone who doesn’t like a cream puff. The only thing better? A free cream puff.
Beard Papa's, the Japanese bakery chain known for its cream puffs with unusual fillings, is commemorating 20 years in the United States this month with enough in-store events, exclusive promotions and giveaways to make any fan’s mouth water.
Beginning Aug. 8 -- the anniversary date of the opening of the first Beard Papa’s store in the U.S., in New York -- the entire chain will hold a fan contest on Instagram. To enter, fans need to follow the brand, tag @beardpapas and "like" the giveaway post.
Winners will receive $100 E-gift cards and free six-pack boxes of cream puffs.

On Aug. 8 only, loyalty program members earn triple points on their purchases made through the app or website. Also on the anniversary, customers will receive $8 off any 12-pack of cream puffs purchased in store.
"We welcome our loyal fans and new fans alike to come and celebrate this special anniversary at all our USA locations," said Mark Nathan, marketing director for Beard Papa's, adding that the company is expressing "gratitude for (our customers’) continued support."
Launched in 1999 in Osaka, Japan, the sweets chain has since grown to over 475 stores in 15 countries and territories, with over 100 in the U.S. The puffs differ from French cream puffs by their unusual custard filling flavors, such as green tea, crème brulée, honey butter and dulce de leche.
