Connect Savannah, which has served its community with news and entertainment coverage for nearly 30 years, is closing its print magazine and digital news website, effective August 16.
Given “changing reader habits and an evolving marketing landscape, we have been unable to secure the financial support needed to sustain our local news and information efforts,” it writes in an announcement.
However, “we plan to continue our experiences, events, and some newsletters, such as Flavors, Fall Festival, the Southeast Georgia Leadership Forum, the Best of Savannah event, and other initiatives that are well underway and in planning,” it adds.
The impact on the staff was not known at deadline.
