'Can' Do: Guinness Debuts 2 Seasonal Spots


A new 15-second TV spot  for Guinness stout uses a holiday jingle as the backdrop to "It's the Most Wonderful Pint of the Year" campaign.

The ad opens with a mansion covered in snow as the scene morphs into a frothy pint that resembles a snow globe. The creative is by integrated-marketing agency Taylor. The work airs on TV throughout December and on the Guinness US Instagram channel and digital platforms.

In addition, the Diageo-owned brand has a second campaign that focuses on its Guinness Nitrosurge device. The "Dancing Can" Guinness Draught spot demonstrates the tool, which breaks down the nitrogen in beer so consumers get a smooth pour each time. AMV BBDO produced the 30-second ad, directed by Johnny Kelly.

The can dances to Perez Prado's "Guaglione," the same song used in the original 1994 spot.

Separately, in mid-November, Guinness and Brooklyn Brewery announced the launch of Guinness Fonio Stout, a limited-edition beer. Available in select locations in the greater New York area, this beer celebrates the global history of Guinness, blending its Irish heritage with the vibrancy of West African culture. The initiative, part of the iBrewing for Impact campaign, is inspired by Brooklyn Brewery brewmaster Garrett Oliver's work with ancient West African grain fonio.

The Guinness brand was established in 1759, when Arthur Guinness signed a 9,000 year lease on St. James's Gate Brewery in Dublin.

Diageo's brands include Johnnie Walker, Crown Royal, Smirnoff and Don Julio tequilas.
