Report: Musk To Pay Marketers To Advertise On X


Ad agency veteran Dan Wald has launched a parody newsletter of the agency world on Substack called AgencySnark

Recent articles disclose Elon Musk’s decision to pay marketers to advertise on X, how many chatbots are suffering from depression and the “shocking admission” from a creative director that his award-winning idea came from the account director.  

AgencySnark is absolutely not about mercilessly laughing at the advertising industry,” quips Wald. “Our industry is too important to the fabric of society to make fun of it.”

The “official” launch is Dec. 9, although the publication has been up and running in beta for a couple of months now.  

Wald is a 40-year veteran of the industry and has served at Brunner, Publicis Kaplan Thaler and agencies within WPP and Interpublic. He is also the author of Ad Asylum, an ad biz send-up that is centered on a big client review.
