Boston Globe Media is mulling the purchase of Boston magazine, Media Nation reports, citing anonymous sources at the Globe. 

If acquired, Boston magazine would join the Globe, the Boston.com website and Stat News, which focuses on the healthcare industry. 

The Globe says it cannot disclose current opportunities, but it states that it “continuously evaluates opportunities for growth that align with our business strategy, and our success as a dynamic media organization is due in part to our desire to adapt and evolve along with our audiences,” Media Nation continues. 

Boston magazine, which publishes Best of Boston rankings, has suffered budget cuts in recent years, the report adds.
