
Genesis Motor America
has hired Jignesh (Jig) Patel as director, digital and performance marketing.
This is a new position to further bolster the brand’s digital and performance marketing
capabilities, a Genesis spokesperson told Marketing Daily.
Patel will drive digital marketing by shaping strategy and optimizing performance to deliver enhanced
consumer websites and apps for customers. Patel will also refine Genesis digital services offerings to achieve the brand’s high standards and ensure retailers are successful in the digital
space.
He reports to Drew Slaven, chief marketing officer of Genesis Motor America. Slaven is closing in on his first year at Genesis after almost 21 years at Mercedes-Benz
USA.
“Jig is a proven leader with extensive expertise in driving brand affinity and advancing digital experience,” Slaven says in a release.

Patel
joins the Genesis brand with over 20 years of automotive experience, including creating brand strategies and leading go-to-market campaigns for product launches.
He previously
served as director of digital marketing and strategy at American Honda Motor Company, leading the development and maintenance of the Honda and Acura web platforms.
Patel also
held the role of brand marketing manager for Acura, where he managed and implemented advertising activities, including market research and television production for national and regional advertising
for general and multicultural markets.
His appointment comes among other executive changes at Genesis.
Hyundai Motor Company has appointed Randy
Parker as the CEO of Hyundai and Genesis Motor North America, effective Jan. 1.
Parker will lead all Hyundai operations and functions in the
U.S., Canada and Mexico and Genesis in the U.S. and Canada, along with oversight for Hyundai's manufacturing facilities in Alabama and Georgia. Parker succeeds
José Muñoz in that role, who has been promoted to president and CEO of Hyundai Motor Company. Parker will also remain the CEO of Hyundai Motor America.
