Argyilan Joins Uber As Global Head Of Advertising

Advertising veteran Kristi Argyilan has been named global head of advertising at Uber, whose ad business is expected to top $1 billion this year, the company has said.

Mark Grether, who previously ran Uber’s ad business, left in May for PayPal.

Argyilan joins after a four-year stint with Albertson’s Media Collective where she was senior vice president. Previously, she was Target's senior vice president, marketing before joining the company’s retail media network as president.

Argyilan's earlier experience includes the agency side of the business as president of IPG’s Magna Global, and senior roles at UM, Arnold, Hill Holliday and other agencies.

Commenting on her LinkedIn page yesterday, Argyilan wrote, “Thrilled to share my Uber journey begins today, as Global Head of Uber Advertising....This is one of the most compelling roles in advertising! A massive engaged audience, global scale, powerful omni-channel platform with the strength of mobility and delivery -- these are things retailers and brands dream of having -- Uber has it and people want to be a part of it.”
