Following tepid growth in October and November, the U.S. ad market had one of its best months of the year in December, propelling total 2024 ad spending up 8.5%.
December expanded 13.2%, tying August and trailing only July's 15.3% growth during of erratic peaks and valleys, according Guideline's U.S. Ad Market Tracker.
December's wrap-up is noteworthy given that it compares with July's and August's Olympic-boosted ad spending.
The big question is whether it is a leading indicator for 2025, or a lagging one.
