GSD&M Taps McCann As Chief Media Officer, McCaffrey Heads Social Media

Austin-based ad agency GSD&M named Peggy McCann as Chief Media Officer. McCann is responsible for enhancing GSD&M’s integrated marketing approach.

Its client roster includes the U.S. Air Force, Corona, Capital One and Southwest Airlines.

Previously, McCann was executive vice president of business solutions at Horizon Media. She also held senior leadership roles at Universal McCann (UM) and J3 at UM. Her brand work includes American Express, Johnson & Johnson, Nationwide Insurance, Omega, LG, Snyders-Lance and Little Caesars.

“Peggy knows how to build strong teams that collaborate across media, analytics, strategy and creativity to deliver impactful omnichannel experiences for consumers and drive results for clients,” said Duff Stewart, CEO of GSD&M. “She is also a relationship builder and brand builder who understands media is integral to the creative process in order to resonate with and reach consumers.”

In addition, the agency recently appointed Joe McCaffrey as its new senior vice president, head of social media. McCaffrey joins the agency from Khoros. Prior to that, he was head of social media at Huge Inc.

“Joe has the experience to scale this practice area’s success at a pivotal time when social commerce is beginning to realize its full potential and brands are increasing investment in this space,” added Stewart.
