JetBlue’s 25th anniversary celebrations took flight last week.
To celebrate, the airline hosted a day of celebrations on Feb. 11, complete with sales pricing, festivities, and giveaways, all grounded in the brand’s roots.
JetBlue’s very first flight -- from New York’s JFK Airport to Fort Lauderdale -- still operates as JetBlue flight #1 to this day, and the airline focused its celebrations there. Customers, crew members, and passengers were treated to a series of “birthday” surprises and giveaways at the airline’s Terminal 5 in JFK Airport – following an earlier celebration for crew members in Buffalo, New York commemorating JetBlue’s first crew member flight back in the year 2000, bound for JFK Airport.
JetBlue also marked the occasion by introducing colorful new “BlueUnity” blue plane livery with a freshly painted Airbus A321 aircraft for the day’s celebratory flight. The design celebrates JetBlue’s crew members over the years, and a current employee even dreamed up its creative concept. The attention-grabbing design also include a tagline on the side of the plane that reads, “Honoring the fly-est crew in the biz.”

The brand promoted its anniversary with dedicated content on its social media pages, including posts about its big “birthday” bash, and the celebratory BlueUnity livery.
“Our mission of bringing humanity back to air travel has set us apart…” JetBlue CEO Joanna Geraghty said in a statement. “Building a unique culture focused on caring for the crewmembers was always core to the JetBlue model, and this new livery speaks to exactly that,” she added “Painting it on the side of a plane lets everyone in on the secret of JetBlue’s success—our crewmembers.”
The airline also announced a series of upcoming customer service and flight enhancements, including expanded service to Europe; the airline’s first-ever customer lounges for TrueBlue Mosaic and JerBlue premium cardholders, debuting this year at JFK’s Terminal 5 and Boston Logan’s Terminal C at a later date; and a domestic first-class option debuting in 2026.
