Dancing With A Bagel: Einstein Bros. Drops 'Forget The Fork' Ditty

Biscuits & gravy are a staple breakfast item at pretty much any diner in America. But the Southern-inspired dish isn’t exactly easy to eat while consumers are in the car on their way to work. Enter Einstein Bros. Bagels, which now is now enabling customers to take the typically saucy breakfast item to go and “Forget the Fork.”

The “Forget the Fork” campaign promotes the company’s newest breakfast item: the Country Bagels & Gravy Egg Sandwich, which is available for a limited time at bakeries nationwide. The sandwich is made with a Country Sausage Gourmet Bagel with eggs, bacon, pork sausage, cheddar cheese and Country Pepper Cream Cheese.

The brand brought in the comedy writing duo Avery Pearson and Jeremiah Watkins of Thousand Percent Productions to compose an original song celebrating the now handheld breakfast. “Forget the Fork,” a new single on Spotify and music video seen here, was the result, with the brand commenting in the announcement: “When breakfast is this good, it deserves its own anthem.”

The ambitious country ballad highlights the difficulties of trying to eat traditional biscuits & gravy in daily life, with lines such as “Biscuits & Gravy, driving you crazy…” as we see a man attempting to pack traditional biscuits and gravy in his briefcase to take to work. Yet with the new Country Bagels & Gravy Egg Sandwich, biscuits & gravy are now good to go, and he "ain’t forking around.” The single is available to stream on Spotify, along with “curated playlists to set the Country Bagels & Gravy-eatin’ mood.”

Einstein Bros. said the brand “spared no expense” in the hilariously well-executed, yet obviously low-budget, music video, in which a plush human-sized bagel dances to his country ballad alongside a cowboy crooner and a happy Einstein’s Country Bagels & Gravy Egg Sandwich customer. The video is on YouTube as well as Einstein’s social media platforms.

Customers can share their own “Country Bagel Moments” on social media by tagging #ForgetTheFork, which will enter them to win a chance to be featured in future content.

Einstein Bros. Bagels operates more than 680 locations throughout the U.S., and is a part of Panera Brands, which also owns Panera Bread and Caribou Coffee.
