Freeman Heads Strategy For Gut New York

Creative agency Gut New York named Deb Freeman as its first head of strategy.

Previously, she held key roles at Grey, FCB New York, McCann and most recently at BCW (now Burson) as the North American chief strategy officer. Her brand work includes Pantene, TJ Maxx, Canon, Burger King and Prudential.

Freeman reports to Natalia Davila, U.S. head of strategy, and Gus Marmarinos, New York managing director.

Marmarinos called her "an exceptionally talented strategist who knows how to turn insight into impact."

Freeman is equally passionate about change. She has worked with The Brady Foundation on advocacy initiatives and helped Cancer Culture, a breast cancer organization, expose the truth about metastatic patients to fund research for millions of women in desperate need of a cure.

“Gut is known for brave, ambitious, and culturally relevant work — built on smart strategy and real human insights,” said Freeman. “As a strategist, Gut’s wholehearted dedication to delivering best in class creativity through transformative insights is a dream come true.”

In 2023, Gut was named Independent Network of the Year at Cannes Festival of Creativity.

Gut's creative network is worldwide, with offices in Miami, Buenos Aires, São Paulo, Toronto, Mexico City, Los Angeles, Amsterdam, Madrid, New York and Singapore.
