Four Seasons Taormina at San Domenico Palace,
backdrop for "White Lotus" season 2.
While the storylines on “The White Lotus” aren’t always pleasant, the backdrop always looks fabulous -- due
in large part to the Four Seasons, one of the world’s most luxurious hotel brands.
“Though the White Lotus is a fictional luxury hospitality brand, audiences didn’t take long to recognize the real-life locations behind the drama after its premiere in 2021,” according to Wallpaper. “Season one unfolded at the Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea, where the pandemic closure granted the production team rare access to film across the entire property – an ideal setting for a story steeped in wealth and power dynamics.”

Four Season resorts “have played starring roles in each of the three seasons of ‘The White Lotus,’ HBO’s twisted take on wealth, class, privilege and five-star hotels,” per The Wall Street Journal. “The chain’s properties in Maui, the Sicilian hilltop town of Taormina and the island of Koh Samui in Thailand have served as backdrops for the murder, mayhem and bad manners of the show’s unsavory characters.”
What started as Four Seasons properties simply providing backdrops has evolved into a strategic marketing partnership with HBO and Max, bringing the Canadian luxury hotel and resort company’s quintessential luxury straight into viewers’ living rooms.
“In February, the luxury hotel company announced a private jet experience called 'World of Wellness' to celebrate the brand’s global partnership with the hit HBO original series,” according to CNBC. “The 20-day itinerary will take 48 guests to filming locations of all three seasons, as well as five additional destinations from May 7 to 26, 2026. Prices start at $188,000 per adult. Guests will board a custom-designed private jet in Singapore and have stays at Four Seasons hotels and resorts in Singapore, Koh Samui, the Maldives, Taormina, Marrakech, Nevis, Mexico City and Maui.”
A member of the Four Seasons journey team and a concierge will travel with guests to handle all trip logistics.
“They may also be able to rest their heads in the exact same bed used by actor Walton Goggins, a Four Seasons spokesperson said,” according to the New York Post. “At the Sicilian resort, guests will mangiare and saluti in the same bars and restaurants where Jennifer Coolidge appeared as Tanya McQuoid and Aubrey Plaza as Harper Spiller over the course of three days. What’s more, the current bar manager San Domenico Palace, located inside the hotel, had a cameo in the first episode, the spokesperson noted.”
