Just in time for St. Patrick’s Day (March 17), Heineken is
teaming with Publicis Dublin and Le Pub on a “recruitment” campaign to find a new owner for an Irish Pub—McLoughlin’s-- on Ireland's Achill Island that’s been family run
for 155 years.
Joseph “Josie” McLoughlin has been running the pub for the last 43 years (his parents ran it before him). But he wants to retire and
has no one in his immediate family to pass the business onto.

Heineken and the agencies have stepped in to help the barkeep find a suitable buyer to keep the bar and generations of rich
tradition alive. A key requirement: the would-be buyer's last name must also be McLoughlin.
The beer brand is using its reach to launch a global ad and PR campaign that includes New York, Boston,
Sydney, Buenos Aires and Vietnam among other places.
Heineken is also putting up a “succession Package” that includes mentorship, business support and investment guidance to help the pub
continue to thrive.
