Portillo's Goes All In For Pope Leo

Portillo’s has dedicated one of its menu items to the new pope.

The Chicago-based hot dog and sandwich chain has named one of its sandwiches “The Leo” after the new Pope, who was born in Chicago.

“Unlike the pope, the sandwich is not new — it’s the chain’s famous Italian Beef Sandwich," according to "Today." “But much like the pope, it’s been symbolically renamed — to mark a historic moment for Chicagoans.

The Leo will be available for the month of May, which just so happens to be Italian beef month at the restaurant.

“In the name of the gravy, the bun, and hot giard – we introduce The Leo: divinely seasoned Italian Beef, baptized in gravy,” the restaurant’s post reads. “Yes, you can really order this,” they added on Instagram, according to the New York Post.
