The Cannes Lions Festival, which started today, has announced that Andy Jassy, President and CEO of Amazon, is the recipient of this year’s Media Person of the Year Award.  

The award recognizes an individual who has made a significant impact on the creative communications industry and who stands out as an influential figure within the global media landscape. 

The festival said that Jassy’s leadership at Amazon has been “instrumental in transforming the company into one of the most influential and innovative media platforms in the world.” 

Jassy has been CEO of the company since 2021 and before that led Amazon Web Services for 24 years.  

Jassy will take to the stage at the Debussy Theatre on Wednesday 18 June for a fireside chat before being presented with the award later that evening.
