Paris Hilton, Burgers, & Bikinis: Can You Name This Iconic QSR?

Remember the Burgers & Bikinis campaign with Paris Hilton from the early 2000s? This QSR is famous for its iconic TV commercials and was one of the first fast food chains to serve charbroiled burgers.

  • Founded in 1941: Carl’s Jr. was started by Carl Karcher and his wife Margaret in Los Angeles, California. Their first business was actually a hot dog cart, and the first Carl’s Jr. restaurant opened in 1956.

  • The “Jr.” in the Name: The name “Carl’s Jr.” comes from being a smaller version of Carl’s Drive-In Barbecue, Carl Karcher’s original full-service restaurant.
  • Home of the Famous Star: Carl’s Jr. is known for its iconic Happy Star logo, which symbolizes the brand.
  • Pioneers of Charbroiled Burgers: Carl’s Jr. was one of the first fast food chains to offer charbroiled burgers, setting them apart from their competitors who mostly used griddles or fryers.
  • Notorious Commercials: Carl’s Jr. is famous for its iconic TV commercials, especially in the early 2000s, which featured celebrities and supermodels. More recently the brand has partnered with social media superstar, Alix Earle, and also original “it” girl Paris Hilton.
