NBC Severs Tie With Discovery Kids, Plans New Fall Slate

  • March 17, 2006
Saturday morning kids' programming continues to undergo a shake-up. NBC will launch a new lineup this fall after ending its relationship with Discovery Kids, which programmed the block with shows such as "Trading Spaces: Boys vs. Girls" and "Tutenstein." The move, which ends a four-year relationship, comes as the kids' upfront gears up. Other changes come September will include DIC Entertainment programming on CBS (a block previously programmed by Nickelodeon) and the launch of shows on the new CW network. NBC had no comment, while Discovery did not immediately return a call seeking comment. NBC previously produced its own shows for Saturday morning such as "Saved by the Bell."
