X Names Polymarket Its Official 'Prediction Market Partner'

In order to enhance in-app engagement and capitalize on conversation around current events, X has partnered with Polymarket, a crypto-based prediction marketplace where users make wagers on different outcomes for real-world events.

Through the partnership, X will integrate Polymarket’s platform with its own internal data to provide live insights -- via its chatbot Grok, and relevant X posts -- about events such as upcoming elections and professional sports games, allowing users to bet with cryptocurrency.

Polymarket says that this integrated product will be the first “of a suite of integrations” and experiences that the company develops with X, adding that future products will focus on "users' ability to make instant sense of breaking news."

According to Grok’s response to an X user, this product has been designed to boost engagement, offer users real-time insights about upcoming events, and drive in-app earnings.

“However, concerns include gambling-like risks, regulatory hurdles, and accessibility for non-crypto users,” Grok continued. “Future integration might embed markets into posts, but success depends on navigating legal issues and user adoption.”

Since launching in 2020, Polymarket has forged partnerships with the AI-powered search engine Perplexity and the fan-supported blogging platform Substack, displaying news summaries and embedded prediction data.

Last year, over $8 billion of predictions were on Polymarket, with leading traders making as much as $47 million from bets placed on the most recent U.S. presidential election.

The company says billions of dollars of predictions have been made in 2025.
