VTech Turns 'Play' Into Performance Fun

VTech, an electronics company known for educational toys, has a 30-second spot that turns its kid tech into performance fun.

Mod Op produced the “Play Like a Pro” campaign, which is live across streaming and digital platforms, supported by a multi-channel campaign spanning Facebook, Instagram and TikTok, as well as kid-targeted media.

“The idea for the spot is simple, but it’s so true. We all remember the toys we had as kids that were weak-sauce versions of a real thing. But these toys are legit. It was so much fun to watch our cast of kids light up over what they could do with the toys,” Steve O’Connell, Mod Op's co-chief creative officer, told Agency Daily.

The creative illustrates that kids don’t just want to pretend — they want to create, perform and play for real. The products include the KidiZoom Camera Pix, KidiStar Drum Pad, KidiStar DJ mixer and KidiZoom SmartwatchDX4. LeapFrog is among the company's most popular toy lines.

Mod Ops' client work includes Sparkling Ice, Nokia and Verizon.
