Motive Appoints Starr SVP, Market-Business Development

Creative agency Motive named Ed Starr as its new senior vice president, market and business development. Based in Miami, he is charged with growth strategy, diversification and expanding into new categories.

Starr spent more than 17 years at creative marketing agency BMF. He brings expertise in brand marketing and integrated campaigns to his new role.

“As we look ahead to 2026, we see continued opportunity to create experience-forward, fully integrated programs that deepen brand connection and have revenue-driving tactics built in. Ed’s approach aligns seamlessly with that vision. Bringing him onto the team positions us to expand our thinking and push into new categories,” Krista Nicholson, president, Motive, told Agency Daily.

The agency's client work includes Dick’s Sporting Goods, PepsiCo, Burger King and Gatorade.

Motive is part of Project Worldwide, one of 14 creative agencies within the global ad company. They also include Argonaut, Darkhorse, Partners & Napier and Praytell.

“Motive is a creative community at the center of culture and its ethos deeply resonated with me,” added Starr.
