Omnicom Media North America has named Jeremy Carey
president of Optimum Sports (OS), its sports media and marketing group. He succeeds Tom McGovern, who co-founded Optimum Sports in 2002. The agency said McGovern will move into a consulting role
within Omnicom Media.
Carey, who has been with OS since 2005, takes the helm following three years as the agency’s chief investment officer.

“Sports continue to be a key element of culture and shared community for audiences across the world,” stated Ralph
Pardo, CEO Omnicom Media North America, who added that Carey's years as a major contributor to the unit's growth makes him the best executive to succeed McGovern.
Carey has
played a major role in developing Optimum Sports’ league, team, and athlete partnerships. He led the development of the
group’s offering beyond scale and presence toward culture and purpose, and is credited with overseeing the group’s expansion into new
areas, from college football’s recently established name, image and likeness rules (NIL) to athlete-led storytelling and fandom-driven platforms.
Carey also oversaw the
launch of Omni Sports, Optimum’s proprietary intelligence platform powered by the holding company’s Omni intelligence platform and further strengthened with
the recent integration of IPG’s Acxiom RealID.
“Jeremy has been instrumental in shaping Optimum Sports for nearly two decades,” said
McGovern. “I have complete confidence that under Jeremy’s leadership, Optimum Sports will continue to push the category forward and deliver even greater impact for Omnicom
clients.”
