Global creator agency Billion
Dollar Boy named Piet Southey as U.S. managing director, a new role. He is responsible for strengthening U.S. client partnerships.
Most recently, the seven-year agency vet served as head of
client services, Europe. Now, he will move from London to the company’s New York office.
His appointment reflects BDB’s highest six-month U.S. revenue performance. During the same
period, the American team grew by 30%, including senior leadership hires. It now numbers 60 staffers.
Before joining BDB, Sothey was head of digital for Technology People Group and
business development director for W1 Squared.
Ed East, Global CEO/co-founder of Billion Dollar Boy, said Sothey’s “grit, optimism and instinctive leadership have played a pivotal
role in shaping the agency we are today. Piet has been instrumental in scaling our UK business … we’re excited to see him bring that same ambition and leadership to our New York office as
we continue to push boundaries as an agency and further accelerate our growth.”
