Travis Kelce may not be playing in this year’s
Super Bowl, but Taylor & Swift will still be making a gameday appearance online on behalf of Dairy Queen.
Yes, you read that correctly: Taylor AND Swift.
That’s New York Jets
quarterback Tyrod Taylor, and Chicago Bears running back D’Andre Swift. They’re promoting what the chain has dubbed Taylor & Swift Halftime Feast, including DQ’s new Chicken
Strip Party Platters. The two star in four new spots, such as seen here, which runs on DQ’s social media platforms along with
additional paid media.
In the first :30 ad, a voiceover and accompanying titles reads, “This halftime show, what if we told you, DQ is bringing you Taylor & Swift!” The camera
pans to the two footballers standing in front of the meal. “You know we’re football players right?” says Taylor. “Yeah, we don’t sing,” adds Swift, as the two
proceed to devour the feast before them.

“Taylor & Swift works because it’s confident without being loud and culturally aware without losing sight of what’s most
important: spotlighting our latest offerings, including the new Chicken Strip Party Platters,” Maria Hokanson, executive vice president of marketing at American Dairy Queen Corporation,
told Marketing Daily. “While rumors swirling about one of the world’s biggest pop stars appearing on stage during the big game were shut down, we saw an opportunity to have some fun
with the moment and deliver something unexpected for fans.”
The campaign, created with Colle McVoy, is also amplified through the DQ app along with an online contest to win one of 60 DQ
Chicken Strip Party Platters.
