International IdentityWhile known as Church's in the U.S., the chain operates as Texas Chicken in many other countries to provide a "taste of Texas".

  • The Original Mascot: In the early days, the chain featured a mascot named "Churchie," a plump character in a chef's hat, who was later replaced by a chicken mascot in the 1980s. The character was sketched shortly after George W. Church Sr. opened the first location in 1952.
