GM Fills Cadillac CMO Role With Longtime Uber Exec

Editor's Note: Story was updated to reflect when Suzanne Guzzo is leaving Buick-GMC.

General Motors has filled its top marketing post at Cadillac after an eight-month vacancy.

David Mogensen, formerly vice president of global marketing for Uber, announced on LinkedIn he is joining the luxury brand. Prior to the four years he spent as Uber’s top marketer, he led marketing for both Uber and Uber Eats across 30 countries in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

“From one mobility business to the next: those who know me well know that I’m a massive automotive enthusiast,” Mogensen wrote in his social media post. “Since my time at BMW, it has been a career-long ambition to lead marketing for a storied, heritage-rich automotive brand like Cadillac.”

He thanked Lin-Hua Wu, who added GM CMO duties to her role as chief communications officer in November. She replaced Norm de Greve, who became GM’s chief growth officer, a new role at the company.

Buick-GMC will soon be without a CMO. Suzanne Guzzo will be leaving the automaker in about a month, according to a source. Chevrolet CMO Steve Majoros reportedly is helping with a new truck launch at GMC while a search for Guzzo’s replacement takes place.

Before her role at Buick-GMC, Guzzo was GM’s CMO in the Middle East and Africa. Before that, she was director of global Cadillac customer transformation.

Early in his career, Mogensen spent more nine years at BMW of North America, finally as a national marketing manager. He left that post in July 2010 for a position at Google, where he also spent more than nine years.

He replaces Melissa Grady Dias, who left Cadillac in July 2025 after nearly seven years in the position.

Dias was instrumental in ushering the luxury brand into the electric era. She was behind the MediaPost award-winning “Let’s Take The Cadillac” from 72andSunny which focuses on what research revealed about Cadillac owners, who are social and enjoy sharing their vehicles with friends and family.

After Dias’ departure, the top marketing executives at Cadillac included Brad Franz, director of global marketing; Maurice Jennings, global brand director and AJ Magali, director of performance marketing.
