Underpants comic Will Ferrell is teaming up with Kim
Kardashian to promote his new Netflix golf comedy series and her underwear brand, Skims.
In a spot posted Monday on Instagram, Ferrell
is seen in character as Lonnie Hawkins, the aging and seemingly washed-up pro golfer he plays on “The Hawk,” his first-ever TV comedy series. It premieres July 16.
The 20-second promo has Hawkins on a golf course teeing up to drive wearing only a pair of Skims underpants, a sun visor, golf gloves, socks and golf shoes as Kim Kardashian provides a
voiceover.
“His body says retire,” she says. “His Skims say one more round. Built for men who still know they’ve got it.”

The promo and above photo of Ferrell modeling a pair of Skims briefs are part of a new Skims campaign aimed at
men.
Funnyman Ferrell, 58, is well-known for the many movies and “Saturday Night Live” sketches in which he
unabashedly cavorted comedically wearing only a pair of white briefs.
He is also notable for his movie sports spoofs such as “Kicking & Screaming”
(kids’ soccer), “Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby” (NASCAR racing), “Blades of Glory” (competitive ice skating) and “Semi-Pro” (professional
basketball).
In “The Hawk,” Ferrell turns his attention to professional golf. In the show, his character, Lonnie Hawkins, is a one-time golf
superstar who in late middle age is launching a comeback campaign.
One of his biggest obstacles will be his own son, Lance (Jimmy Tatro), who is golf’s
reigning Golden Boy.
In two promo spots for the show that are running on YouTube (unrelated to Skims),
Ferrell as The Hawk is seen throwing a temper tantrum in a sand trap, and being screamed at by his ex-wife, Stacey (Molly Shannon).
“The Hawk” has been in
development and production since at least 2023. The TV Blog first heard about it at the Netflix Upfront in May 2024 in New York. Back then, it was promoted with the simple, one-word title of
“Golf.”
In addition to Ferrell, Shannon and Tatro in the lead roles, the cast of “The Hawk” includes Chris Parnell, Luke Wilson and Fortune
Feimster.
