Splitting up assets after a divorce can be rough, but a new 12-pack from Twisted Tea is making dividing a certain asset a little less painful. 

Inspired by a recent NPR report that found divorce filings have been shown to skyrocket in late summer, the brand this week rolls out a Twisted Tea Split Pack, which is described as a “limited-edition 12-pack engineered to divide cleanly down the middle, so you and your ex can divide your most important assets easily.”

The specially designed pack, in Twisted Tea’s original hard iced tea flavor, easily splits into two six-packs “with a single, satisfying tear,” with one side labeled “Yours,” and the other, “Mine.”

“Twisted Tea fans bring us along for some of the most memorable moments of their lives,” said Erica Taylor, senior brand director for Twisted Tea, in a release. “Every year, we're invited to hundreds of weddings, asked to sponsor countless bachelor parties, tagged in thousands of fan photos, and even receive requests to furnish new homes with Twisted Tea merch. So, it only felt right that we show up for another milestone our fans may experience – when things don't exactly go according to plan.”

The brand is also giving one unfortunate divorcee some help with the cost of their separation. Citing that the average cost of an uncontested divorce in the U.S. runs about $5,000, the brand will automatically enter each purchaser through Aug. 4 into a contest to win exactly $5,000 “to help kick off their next chapter, whether that means a new space, a new lawyer, or just a clean slate.”
