A decades-old tagline gets a new creative refresh in the
latest U.K. ad campaign for Carlsberg.
The Danish pilsner has brought back its “If Carlsberg Did…,” tagline, which was last used in 2016, for a new marketing effort.
Created with agency Fold7, the new creative work brings the tag, which the brand defines as “access to the best,” back to life through a series of humorous OOH and experiential
efforts that highlight common British summer frustrations, with Carlsberg providing relief.
“[If Carlsberg Did] is one of the most iconic, recognizable, and beloved
advertising taglines in British history,” said Munnawar Chishty, CMO at Carlsberg Britvic, in a release. “In 2026, we're giving this legendary platform a modern glow-up to solve some of
the UK's most common summer pain points. Whether it's reclaiming the peace of a seaside beer garden from seagulls or finding a perfectly chilled pint in the middle of a heatwave, we are stepping in to
help Brits make the absolute most of their summer.”

In an outdoor “If Carlsberg Did Football Ads” execution, the brand turned billboards into goal posters: actual physical
goals that inspire spontaneous street football games.
Social videos supports the OOH, such as seen here.
An experiential effort,
“If Carlsberg Did Summer…,” introduces a Carlsberg mobile bar, inspired by vintage ice cream trucks, which serves the pilsner “where they’re needed most,”
such as at parks in the scorching summer heat.
The brand is also tackling a summer issue specific to British seaside pub gardens: annoying seagulls. To ease patron irritation, Carlsberg has
employed “real, professionally trained” live hawks as “seagull security” in coastal pubs across the country.
The campaign runs through Aug. 31 and also includes VOD,
in-store, paid social and creator partnerships.
