California accounts for 42% of film and TV production, despite losses in recent years, according to a study by XR Extreme Reach, Deadline reports. New York, the second state, has only 14% of the
U.S. market, a decline of 10% since 2019. Texas is third with 6.5% of production and a 16% surge in volume in the past year. Florida, Illinois and Georgia are next. Celebrity
payments will total $1.3 billion in 2026, XR states.
