Hard Mountain Dew Offers $1M For Real Bigfoot Proof

Hard Mountain Dew is giving $1 million to the person who can “prove” the existence of Bigfoot, the mythical forest sasquatch that has eluded amateur and professional sleuths alike for decades.

The boozy soda brand has launched the “Bigfoot Bounty”: a $1 million challenge to consumers to prove the legendary creature actually exists. But capturing the prize may be as elusive as Bigfoot himself.

The “proof” required to win is fairly exacting. Contestants must submit an entry including four out of the following forms of evidence: Bigfoot paw print, which must measure 37-38.5 inches long, found “pressed six inches into solid gravel”; a Bigfoot handprint, which must be a 13-inch handprint displaying “distinct shape, proportions, and unusual characteristics”; a thermal imaging capture, showing a “seven-foot, nine-inch tall heat signature moving at 20-25 mph through dense forest”; a hair follicle sample containing “unknown DNA markers"; audio recordings; environmental remnants and lastly a “bigfoot cameo” photo of bigfoot itself photobombing the contestant.

The brand has brought in Bigfoot expert Bryce Johnson, who produced and starred in the series “Expedition Bigfoot,” to judge the submitted evidence.

“Hard Mountain Dew has always been about chasing bold experiences, and Bigfoot Bounty takes that mindset to the next level,” said Erica Taylor, senior brand director for Hard Mountain Dew. “Every fall, someone's got a story of a shape in the trees or a sound they can't explain. You [may] catch Bigfoot or just catch a good story trying…”

Consumers can submit their evidence to HardDewBigfootBounty.com through Nov. 30 to take a shot at the $1 million prize.

As the brand concedes that “not everyone can bag Bigfoot,” it’s also offering the top 100 entrants who submit their best evidence a free pack of Hard Mountain Dew.<
