The Visit St. Pete-Clearwater (VisitSPC) tourism bureau is
seeking a few new employees to round out its “SPC-Suite.”
The sunny Florida beach destination has launched the search for three new executives, each of whom will receive a
“10-day destination-immersion assignment” to “explore the people, places and experiences that embody the beach culture in St. Pete-Clearwater.”
The new positions
include a Chief Vibes Officer, who will be “responsible for conducting very serious field research across live music, nightlife, entertainment and wherever else the vibes lead”; a Chief
Flavor Explorer, who will “eat and drink their way through the destination’s culinary scene and call it research”; and Chief Sunset Curator, who is “tasked with finding
inspiration across world-class museums, hundreds of murals, colorful neighborhoods and plenty of Gulf sunsets.”

Each position, listed on Indeed here, includes a $10,000 “contract fee,” as well as airfare, accommodations and VIP experiences. According to the brand, the
executives may also be tapped for future out-of-market activations.
“Our new executives have the tough job of eating, drinking, exploring and soaking up St. Pete-Clearwater...and getting
paid for it,” said Brian Lowack, president and CEO of Visit St. Pete-Clearwater,, in release. “It may sound like a vacation, but there’s real work to do. Getting to know our
destination means experiencing it day in and day out, following what interests and surprises you and sharing those discoveries with others.”
VisitSPC’s national recruitment efforts
extend to OOH executions in Times Square and other locations, as well as posts on the brand’s socials. The humorous recruitment campaign intends to shed light on the many activities SPC has to
offer besides its beaches, such as “art, cuisine, music, sports, extraordinary small-town communities and distinct personalities.”
“We could tell people there’s more to
St. Pete-Clearwater than the beach, but we’d rather give them a reason to discover it for themselves,” added Steve Grimes, CMO of Visit St. Pete-Clearwater. “As for the ROI? A
healthy case of FOMO is a good place to start.”
