MSN Leads Pack In Web Video Ads

MSN has shelled out big bucks to gain Web rights to an array of network programming, from Fox's "Arrested Development" to CBS's "Rock Star Supernova." Now, MSN has emerged as a top video site in terms of traffic--behind Yahoo--and the first choice for many online video advertisers. The portal is nicely positioned to benefit from the explosion in online video advertising. But it also raises questions about Google Inc.'s ability to maintain its stranglehold on Internet ads. Google, which prefers to develop a search offering rather than license video, has fallen behind Time Warner Inc.'s AOL and YouTube Inc., the amateur-video site.
