Apple Inc., maker of the iPod, has resolved a trademark dispute with Apple Corps Ltd., guardian of The Beatles' commercial interests, over use of the iconic apple logo and name.
But the
announcement yesterday between one of the world's largest music sellers and the beloved band did not say if the catalog of Beatles songs will become available for download anytime soon.
The
settlement gives Cupertino-based Apple Inc. ownership of the name and logo in return for agreeing to license some of those trademarks back to London-based Apple Corps for their continued use.
