Lee Kerry, a long-time editor and journalist who helped found
Adweek/West, died Feb. 11. He was 89.
Born in Brooklyn, New York, and a long-time resident of Phoenix, Kerry moved to Los
Angeles in the 1950s and joined regional advertising trade magazine Media Agencies Clients (MAC), which along with Serving Advertising Midwest (SAM) and Advertising News of New
York (ANNY), became the foundation for Adweek magazine, which later added regional editions in Atlanta, Houston and Boston.
Kerry served as editor of Adweek/West for 25 years,
and as editor at large, wrote an interview column for many years after his retirement.
