Del Monte Launches 'Family Togetherness' Web Site

Del Monte Foods has launched a new corporate Web site, DelMonte.com, that has rich media content, such as "Family Moments" and "Ask a Nutritionist," "Employee Profiles" and "Happy, Healthy Pets" features. The new site also has a "Living a Healthy Lifestyle" section that offers advice, recipes, articles and videos.

The new site, via New York-based digital ad agency Agency.com, focuses on a theme of "family togetherness," per the company, with information on healthy lifestyle choices for people and their pets. Contributors include Art Smith, a cookbook author and personal chef to Oprah Winfrey, and cardiologist Dean Ornish, M.D., founder and president of the non-profit Preventive Medicine Research Institute.

The pet focus includes video content starring Animal Planet's Jeff Corwin demonstrating how pets can facilitate exercise and emotional well-being.

"The magic of this site is that it doesn't just talk about healthier living--it helps make it happen," says Joseph Newfield, creative director at Agency.com, in a release. "Del Monte came to us with a unique story: their products fulfill the full breadth of people's nutritional needs. In addition, numerous studies demonstrate that healthy pets actually help make healthy families. From there, it was a matter of telling that story in an engaging way and supporting it with expert content."
