Honda Highlights Space Exploration Efforts

Honda is launching a demonstrative brand campaign starring the upgraded 2027 Honda Passport TrailSport.

The campaign launches with a 30-second spot, “Base to Captain,” which places the enhanced 2027 Passport TrailSport at the center of an imaginative family adventure, transforming a road trip into an otherworldly mission through the eyes of a young explorer.

The vehicle, which is just arriving at dealerships this week, is positioned as the “ultimate adventure Honda SUV and its increased ride height and revised suspension for enhanced off-road capability.”

The spot, from Honda AOR RPA, echoes the spirit behind the Honda brand slogan, “The Power of Dreams.”

The campaign reflects the idea that dreams and ambitious thinking can inspire new possibilities, illustrating how the Honda Passport TrailSport can spark a young explorer’s imagination, according to the automaker.

That same spirit of curiosity and exploration can be seen across Honda, including in emerging areas of research and development such as space exploration.

In 2025, Honda completed a successful launch and landing test of an experimental reusable rocket.

Honda space efforts also include research into regenerative fuel cell systems designed to provide advanced energy storage and help enable a sustained human presence on the Moon.

The spot also highlights the Honda Base Station Prototype, a future-focused yet accessible towable RV concept developed by Honda U.S. R&D engineers that explores new possibilities for off-road adventure.

"Base to Captain" will be featured across multiple media platforms, including national broadcast, cable and streaming television, plus digital and social media.

The spot also briefly highlights the full Honda TrailSport lineup — Passport, Pilot, Ridgeline and CR-V.

It will air during high-profile national sports programming, including NFL and college football and NBA, WNBA and NHL competitions, with additional placements on CBSSports.com, NFL on FOX, Men’s Health, and social media platforms such as Reddit and TikTok.
