IFC Names Caserta As Marketing, Communications Chief

Rainbow Media has tapped a top executive from youth-targeted Fuse to head marketing and other functions at its Independent Film Channel. Jennifer Caserta joins IFC as its new executive vice president overseeing marketing, communications, scheduling and alternative platforms.

Caserta had previously worked at the indie film network--the subject of heavy out-of-home ad efforts in the New York market--before joining Fuse, the young-skewing music network. She was executive vice president and general manager of Fuse, where she oversaw the launch of a live daily music studio show called "The Sauce."

Fuse was part of Rainbow, but parent Cablevision recently shifted it under its Madison Square Garden unit.

At IFC, a key duty will be heading the network's online and on-demand efforts, as well as activity on other new emerging platforms. Caserta reports to IFC head Evan Shapiro. He said Caserta will help "the brand to mature, while retaining its reputation for being raw and innovative" as it moves further into developing original programming.

Before Fuse, Caserta's first tour at IFC included serving as senior vice president of marketing for two and a half years. She helped launch the "tv.uncut" re-brand that is a frequent presence on taxi tops and elsewhere in Manhattan.

Caserta, like Shapiro, also has worked at Court TV.
