Keeping its new entertainment products coming, TiVo will now get into the music downloading business in a deal with Rhapsody, a digital music service of MTV Networks and Real Networks.

Rhapsody's four million songs and thousands of radio stations will now be available through TiVo digital video recording machines, and users will be able to play music through their TiVo DVRs.

Current TiVo subscribers will get a free 30-day trial of Rhapsody. Beyond that free month, consumers can then elect to pay $12.99 per month to continue with Rhapsody.

TiVo DVRs users can access their existing Internet Rhapsody music libraries via their television at no extra charge.

TiVo has already made content deals so its users can access movie downloads from Amazon, online content from places such as The New York Times and The Onion, as well as the ability to share home movies through One True Media.

The deal will give Rhapsody some needed push in competing with other bigger digital music services such as iTunes Music Store.
