Moderator Aaron Goldman opened up the Local Search panel by saying that the wait for local search to explode is over -- and he gave some stats to prove it.
Local advertising has achieved the
scale ($4.6 billion will be spent on local advertising online next year) to make it worth serious marketer attention, and it will continue to grow become 18% of total online ad spending in 2011.
And search will be the king of local online advertising -- growing from 43% of all local ad spend in 2007, to 51% in 2011.
