"When we learned more about the product line, we encouraged Clorox to expedite its global distribution plans and partner with us on marketing to reach the growing number of Wal-Mart shoppers looking for ways to make greener choices that positively impact the environment," the company says of the products, made from plant-based ingredients derived from sources like coconuts and lemon oil.
Wal-Mart says the new line--including five different types of household cleaners--is biodegradable, non-allergenic, packaged recyclable bottles, and not tested on animals. Clorox has been beefing up its green image, and recently acquired Burt's Bees, an all-natural cosmetics company.
