Weather Channel Taps Raleigh To Head Sales

The Weather Channel has tapped Chris Raleigh to head its multi-platform sales operations. Raleigh, who recently left the Game Show Network (GSN) after three years in a similar role there, becomes senior vice president and general sales manager.

Based in New York, Raleigh reports to Paul Iaffaldano, executive vice president and general manager of TWC Media Solutions.

Iaffaldano said that "it was crucial for us to have a head of ad sales with a strong background in new media as well as traditional broadcast and cable sales management."

GSN has looked to aggressively build its Web and interactive offerings, while TWC's weather.com is booming.

Before GSN, Raleigh spent four years as vice president of advertising sales for Tech TV, now G4. Previously, he held a slew of sales positions at NBC, including in daytime, late night and news.
