A new head of digital sales is the latest in the rapid succession of executives joining Discovery Communications. While Kathleen Kayse joins as executive vice president, digital media sales from AOL,
she also has extensive experience in print.
She was an executive vice president at AOL's new sprawling Platform A sales operation. But during her 24 years at Time Warner, Kayse was
also publisher of People and Money.
At Discovery, she will report to president of ad sales Joe Abruzzese.
Abruzzese said: "Her respect throughout the industry and vast
knowledge of the digital marketplace positions Discovery to continue broadening the advertising opportunities across our organic and acquired Web sites, mobile and on demand offerings."
Discovery
has Web sites linked with 13 networks and several recent acquisitions, where Kayse will look to drive revenues.
Discovery said that since 2004, Kayse's work at AOL helped develop relationships
leading to more than $1 billion in ad dollars.
