The Summit has begun -- at least the more serious part after last night's beach-side cocktail reception here at Captiva Island. And MediaPost's Ken Fadner is filling in a packed room about
some famous residents of what technically is no longer an island due to shifting sands.
Attendees entranced enough to put down some roots in Captiva have a rather appealing
option: Case's Place. AOL founder Steve Case -- clearly one of the most influential people in the email continuum -- is selling his home for a cool $7.9 million.
Other well-known
Captiva residents include Ted Koppel, Willard Scott and Bill Gates. And artist Robert Rauschenberg, who died earlier this month, lived only a few hundred yards from the conference site.
